Contact Lens Consultation

Contact lenses offer a flexible and convenient alternative to eyeglasses, and they can fit a variety of lifestyles. Whether you wear them daily, only on weekends, or for special occasions like sports, contact lenses provide the freedom to tailor your vision correction to your needs.

If you’re considering contact lenses, they must fit properly and comfortably. Our contact lens consultation ensures you get the best fit and understand how to care for your lenses. Here’s what to expect during your consultation:

  1. Comprehensive Eye Exam – We start by assessing your overall eye health.
  2. Vision Prescription – We determine your general vision prescription to guide lens selection.
  3. Contact Lens Fitting – We conduct a thorough fitting to find the right lens type, size and fit for your eyes.

With constant advancements in the contact lens industry, we stay updated on the latest options to enhance comfort, convenience, and accessibility. During your consultation, we’ll discuss lifestyle and health factors impacting your best lens choice.

We’ll help you consider

Lens Type

Daily disposables vs. monthly disposables

Lens Material

Soft lenses vs. rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses

Eye Conditions

Special recommendations for astigmatism, dry eye, or other specific needs

Lifestyle Preferences

Colored contact lenses and options for patients over 40 who need multifocal or monovision lenses.

Contact Lens Trial and Prescription

Once we’ve determined which type of contact lenses may work best for your eyes, we’ll have you try on a pair to confirm their fit and comfort. Our eye doctor or assistant will insert the lenses and leave them in for 15-20 minutes during this trial. Afterward, the doctor will evaluate the fit, lens movement, and how your eyes respond to the lenses.

If the lenses are a perfect fit and your eyes feel comfortable, we’ll proceed with ordering your lenses. You’ll also receive detailed instructions on how to care for your lenses, including inserting and removing them, how long to wear them, and proper storage techniques.

Follow-Up Appointment

A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to ensure the lenses fit well and that your eyes adjust properly. If you experience discomfort or dryness, scheduling a visit as soon as possible is essential. We may try different lenses, change solution, or adjust your wearing schedule to ensure the best fit and comfort.

Your eye care is our priority, and we are here to ensure you have the best experience with your contact lenses. Let us help you find the perfect pair of contact lenses to suit your vision needs and lifestyle. Schedule your consultation today!
